Done in pencil and then with watercolor on top, this piece is on a 7 x 14 archival mat board. There is also watercolor marker applied over the pencil in a few areas.
We started growing black-eyed susan wildflowers on our front porch this summer and this a drawing I did of them. I was drawn to the way the center of the flowers were bold little black dots and wanted to have them "pop" against a more moody blue background.
Because this is a more "quiet" piece, I would recommend putting it in a kids room, guest bathroom, powder room or office area. Another option would be near a dressing area either in a bedroom or closet door area.
