This piece is done on 30" x 24" x 3" wrapped canvas. It's done with acrylic paint and uses Thai momi paper as well as dip died printed paper.
Many times, the patterns and beauty of the materials I work with dictate the way I think about the piece. With Orange River I really wanted to use the fluid spots in the paper as a pattern that was repeated throughout the work as well as the strips in the dip dyed paper. I also liked the idea of these two complimentary colors in the same piece, since I normally don't have them together in most of my other work.
This piece is dynamic and playful. It would work well in a kids playroom area or in a more contemporary dining/living room.
