This piece is 18 x 24 done on 140lb watercolor paper with pencil and watercolor.
Ranunculus flowers only come around when spring is in full swing. These little flowers pack such a punch of color and their tight little petals grip me into buying as many as I can afford to put in my house. I had purchased a small bunch of light orange and yellow ones when I decided I needed to use them as watercolor practice. They reminded me of orange marmalade so that it why I decided to call them that.
This piece would look great in a room full of neutrals or wood tones so that the colors really pop. That being said, I think they could go in a living room or above a console table in a hallway. I think it would be great in a gallery wall of other work too.
