This 22 x 36 piece is done on archival 300lb. paper in liquid acrylic with watercolor applied paper on top in acid-free glue.
One of my current interests in my art is any sort of large-leafy-sculptural-types of plants. There is a home that I visit often that has a large beautiful fig plant in the backyard. I have made it the source of many pieces, this being on of them. I began by drawing the fig leaves then watercolored on top of them. I used fluid acrylics as a background layer and then cut and pasted my drawing on top. I then went back in and then layered more paint on top to connect the two together.
This is one of my larger works, so I would recommend framing it a white mat and hanging it in a place that needs a larger piece. Ex: over a fireplace, over a sofa, over a buffet.
