A small formal living room was a dated and forgotten part of this client’s home. To recapture it as a place to host her “lady friends”, we installed a custom wall of mirrors (a la Versailles) and reupholstered her family heirloom furniture into updated patterns and textures.

My client had custom-built her home over time with her husband of 40+ years. This room had been from the original part of the house and was where the baby grand that their only daughter played was located. The custom fireplace and family heritage was everywhere but it’s heavy window treatments and dark upholstery made it uninviting. Using the fireplace and mantle as the basis for the grid, a wall of antique custom mirrors was installed to make the room bigger and capture as much light as possible. Glass tables, light upholstery and accents of brass elevated the space to the ultimate hang out.
